About

ARCH 208: Design Foundations is an introductory course for Architecture students at the Taubman College of Architecture, and offers a holistic overview of contents ranging from architectural history, design concepts, notable architects, and graphic/editorial design.

For the final deliverable of this course, I submitted a high-quality notebook-style file containing 100+ pages of hand-sketched notes, assignments, and reflections. After receiving a 97 (A) as my final grade, I commissioned for my notebook to be printed physically.

To me, there is a certain magic to physical books and works that cannot be conveyed through technology — this notebook marks the beginning of my design journey, as such, I wanted to keep it with me permanently.

In September, 2025, I was invited back to ARCH 208 by Professor Anca Trandafirescu to give a speech to new students about my ARCH 208 coursework, which has now become an exemplar reference in the official teaching material.
