Seeing is the act of observing and translating the visible and invisible qualities of objects we perceive. From a person’s freehand drawings, we can see into their character, and understand them personally.
In this 7-week long module at Taubman College taught by Melissa Harris, I saw myself grow from struggling to draw straight lines, to being able to analyze the folds of paper meticulously. Each piece was the result of hours of utmost attention, no eraser, no ruler, only patience and seeing. Each drawing takes around 4-6 hours to finish.
